30 cm on the top edge, 12 inches on the bottom edge

How to print a ruler at actual size

  1. Open the print dialog with the button above (or Ctrl/Cmd + P).
  2. Set Scale: 100% or Actual size - never “Fit to page”.
  3. Enable Background graphics so the ruler stays solid black.
  4. Optionally save as PDF first, then print the PDF at 100%.
  5. Check the scale against a real 12-inch ruler or a credit card (85.6 mm).

What is a printable ruler?

A printable ruler is a ruler image scaled to physical units (inches and centimeters) that you print on paper at 100% zoom. It is useful when no physical ruler is available: print once, cut it out, and use it like a normal ruler. Because printers vary, always verify the printed scale against a known object before relying on it.
